When I first heard this quote, I thought it sounded like a worldly statement. Sort of an, “I am worth it statement”. It didn’t seem like anything spiritual. But as I thought about this statement more, I began to think about how many people miss so much of life because they are convinced that they aren’t good enough.
First, we look at the people around us. Usually, what we see isn’t the whole story, but it sure looks good to us. It can seem that everyone else has the goods that somehow we missed out on. If we look around enough without the eye of wisdom, we can easily become convinced that we are not quite up to par. We end up feeling inferior.
Here is the spiritual side. Satan loves this game. He is constantly looking for ways to make us ineffective for the Kingdom. Discouragement, discontentment, and inferiority are some of the enemies favourite weapons. We so often don’t realize that we are playing Satan’s game when we compare ourselves to other people, or begin to feel inferior. We usually just accept that we just don’t make the grade and start to sink into discouragement. This all tends to happen at a level below our awareness. This is exactly where the enemy wants us.
We have a choice! Just as Eleanor Roosevelt said…
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent
This includes Satan. We can choose to accept the discouragement, discontentment, and inferiority that the enemy has presented to us, or we can choose to believe our true identity. We have a place of great value in the eyes of THE KING. We are His children. We are Princes and Princesses and heirs to the greatest treasure of all time. There is nothing that is out of our reach as we live by faith. Just as Eleanor Roosevelt said, it is our choice how we view ourselves. Today, I plan to live like a Princess!
