Hope in God-Psalm 42

Hope in God-Psalm 42:11
Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God;
for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God

These words come from Psalm 42 . These are David’s words. These are the words of a man praying from a heart that is searching for light. David, being a man of great passion, would swing from places of deep depression to mountain apices. In this particular Psalm he is trying to find a way out of one of his deep depressions.Continue Reading

David-A Man After God’s Heart

 David-Acts 13:22In the book of 1 Samuel, David spends much of his time hiding from King Saul who was pursuing him. Saul knew that David had been anointed as the next king. (You can read about David’s anointing here). David had vanquished the Philistine’s by defeating Goliath (you can read about that here), and as a result had become an instant hero. This did not sit well with Saul, who must have felt his position slipping away. Saul was not the most stable person and had many times attempted to take David’s life. Eventually, David had fled with his band of men and taken refuge in the numerous caves in the rocky terrain.Continue Reading
